RICHMOND -- The Edison football team finished the regular season on a high note with a 26-6 win in the annual Route 43 Bowl against rival Indian Creek on Friday night.
The Wildcats, who finish 7-3 and are headed to the playoffs, out-scored the Redskins (2-8) 19-0 in the second half after holding a slim 7-6 lead at halftime.
Talan McClurg ran for 104 yards and a score and hauled in two passes for another 53 yards, while JD Henderson passed for 169 to lead the Edison offense.
Lane Waggoner hauled in an 8-yard TD from Dawson Jones to open the scoring in the first, before Creek's Zach Byard ran for an 80-yard score in the second quarter to make it a one-point game.
In the second half, McClurg ran for a 5-yard score, Henderson ran for a 1-yard score and Mason Eisnaugle had a 2-yard score late to cap the scoring.
For Creek, Byard finished with 92 yards on seven carries, while Zion McGee ran for 78 yards on 18 carries to top the 1,000-yard rushing mark for the season.
According to Joe Eitel's rankings on Friday night, Edison will finish either No. 10 or 11 in the Division V, Region 17 rankings, meaning Edison is headed on the road in the opening round next Friday. The official rankings and the Wildcats' opponent will be announced on Sunday.
Oak Glen falls at Cameron, 35-0
CAMERON -- After a scoreless first quarter, host Cameron ran away from Oak Glen for a 35-0 victory on Friday night.
The Golden Bears drop to 1-8 with the loss, while Cameron is now 7-1.
The Dragons racked up 368 rushing yards and scored four of their five touchdowns on the ground.
Cameron's Colson Wichterman ran for 210 yards and two scores and threw for two more touchdowns. Klypsan Wallace finished with 136 yards.
Anthony Burt led the Golden Bears with 28 yards on 10 carries.
The Golden Bears have a bye week before closing the season at home against Roane County on Nov. 3.
