Blue Dons come back to defeat Oak Glen, 21-14

WEIRTON -- Andre Crossland's 56-yard touchdown catch with Maddox Bowen with four minutes remaining lifted Madonna over Oak Glen, 21-14, in regular-season play Friday night at Jimmy Carey Stadium.
The Blue Dons finish their regular season 7-3, while the Golden Bears drop to 0-9.
WV Tailgate Central had the win moving Madonna up a spot to No. 14 in the Class A rankings as of Friday night. The Dons have a bye week next week and will wait and see where they finish, in position for a potential first playoff appearance since 2020.
Oak Glen led 14-6 in the third quarter, but two fourth-quarter fumbles put Madonna in position to come back.
Bowen was 13-of-22 passing for 154 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions.
Former Oak Glen player Wes Molish had five catches for 43 yards, Koleton Grishkevich hauled in five catches for 38 yards and a touchdown and Crossland had two catches for 63 yards and the game-winning score.
Trent McCartney topped the Blue Dons on the ground with 43 yards on nine carries.
Devan Juszczak returned to the Oak Glen lineup for the first time since Oct. 12 due to injury and ran for 123 yards and two touchdowns on 23 carries. He scored on a 23-yard run in the first quarter and a 34-yard run in the second quarter to give the Golden Bears a 14-6 lead. Sam Wright kicked both extra points.
Greg Sauers added 63 yards on 17 carries and Josh Mayer 50 yards on 11 carries.
The Golden Bears were intercepted on their only pass.
Oak Glen will close out the season next Friday at Tygarts Valley.
