Creek runs past Weir to go to 4-0

WEIRTON — The Indian Creek football team’s strong start to the season continues.
The Redskins had the first six scores of the game Friday night at Weir High on the way to a 46-22 victory over the Red Riders.
Creek is now 4-0, while Weir High drops to 0-3.
Quarterback Ian Starkey had another big night for Creek, throwing for 122 yards and a score while going 10 of 18 passing and rushing for 39 yards and another TD.
Gavin Pownall ran for two scores and caught another, while Bruce Mazar rushed for 75 yards on six carries and had a TD while also hauling in four passes for another 52 yards.
The Redskins racked up 23 first downs and compiled 483 yards of offense, 361 coming on the ground.
Dylan Romanyak and Bradley Paulman also had touchdowns for Creek.
For Weir High, Elijah McShan caught a 61-yard TD, while Thomas Davdison had 60 rushing yards and a score and Logan Lemmi added a scoring run.
The Red Riders did all of their scoring in the second half after Creek had taken a 34-0 halftime lead.

The Redskins look to go to 5-0 next week when they host Brooke (1-2).
Weir High has its bye week before traveling to Harrison Central on Sept. 26.
