Less than 24 hours after the NCAA Division I Cabinet approved a monumental change in eligibility rules, a group of 15 college basketball players filed a lawsuit in an Ohio state court claiming the new age-based model unfairly shuts them out of further competition. NCAA Cabinet tweaks college football calendar with 14-week season and bowl rule change

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The NCAA Division I Cabinet has approved a series of changes to the college football calendar, including standardizing the Bowl Subdivision regular season at 14 weeks, and a proposal surfaced to further tighten the January transfer portal window. Beginning in fall 2027, teams will be able to schedule up to 12 regular-season games for the 14-week season that ends following Thanksgiving.
