Richmond group plans for Memorial Day parade

RICHMOND — The Richmond Community Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Crew House Museum on Main Street to finalize plans for the community's annual Memorial Day parade. In honor of the nation's semiquincentennial, the historical society selected "250 Years of American Freedom" as the theme of the parade, which will be held May 25, beginning at 11 a.m. The historical society is the longtime sponsor and organizer of the parade which will form at the former Richmond Elementary School and Hardy Field parking lot area with participants asked to be there by 10:30 a.m. ...

TORONTO — The volunteer members of the Toronto Beautification Committee take pride in making the Gem City look nice. They work at various times of the year to plant flowers and groom shrubs at various sites throughout the city including the north and south entrances, the gazebo area and Liberty square as well as several other areas. FINDLAY — A painting from a local artist will be a part of the 49th-annual Juried Ohio Watercolor Exhibition. Gina Judy's watermedia work, "Plein-Air Artists on Gilfillan Lawn," a 26-inch-by-34-inch painting, has been accepted into the exhibit, which will run from Sept. 26 through Oct. 23 at the Marathon Center for the Performing Arts in Findlay.
