Acting out: A city resident is facing multiple charges after she allegedly tried to outrun police in the 200 block of North Seventh Street, Thursday. Police said Samantha Cremeans, 832 South St., was charged with possession of drugs, tampering with evidence and escape, all felonies, after a foot chase, during which they reported seeing her allegedly toss items over a fence running parallel to Washington Street. Police said they subsequently recovered a lighter and a “small, white rock-like substance” believed to be cocaine and said Cremeans told them she’d “swallowed a bag of heroin” and “began to flail her body as if she was overdosing to “(make) officers believe she was going unconscious” so they retrieved Narcan and began to perform sternum rubs. Because she was wanted for escape after a July 22 drug arrest, an officer remained at the hospital while she was medically cleared for incarceration.

She said her partner had “urinated all over herself and was now rolling around on the floor.” Police said the woman was hanging over the side of the bed and when they called ut to her, “she immediately fell off the bed and began thrashing around on the floor as she mumbled nonsense.” Initially believing her to be having a mental episode, police said Steubenville firefighters advised the woman was “under the influence of a stimulant, likely methamphetamine, and was medicated before being transported to the hospital for treatment.
Sucker punched: An elderly man in the 1400 block of Oregon Avenue (rear) said he was walking home with purchases he’d made at a store when a male wearing a dark-colored hoodie hit him in the head from behind and grabbed his goods, Thursday. He said the male hit him “several more time” before fleeing the scene. Police said the man had a blackened right eye and appeared as though he’d been punched in the nose as well due to “dried blood beneath both nostrils.”
All in a day’s work: Elriheimibanu Holloway, 58, 1301 Arlington Ave., Steubenville, probation violation, Friday. Police said Holloway had been remanded to jail after which he “began to act strangely” so they took him to a room and had him sit down while they waited for an ambulance. They allege he “began to act as though he was breathing heavily and appeared to fake as though he stopped breathing,” but after they moved him to the floor … he was found to be still breathing.” Police reported Holloway then “began to convulse on the floor for some time before claiming he was having a stroke, though none of his behavior was consistent with (that).” He was taken to the hospital, and after being medically cleared he was taken to the Jefferson County Justice Center and booked.

A man was leaning over a small fire near one of the tenants and two others were nearby. After the fire was extinguished the trio was escorted out of the woods to the sidewalk, where they were told “they had 24-48 hours to clean up the trash they had scattered through the area” and once they have it picked up they need to leave the area because they were on private property.
Drunk: A Sunset Boulevard eatery reported an ex-employee “was attempting to get inside the business while the doors were locked,” Saturday. Police said the woman in question told them she’d clocked out about an hour earlier but came to “to confront someone about something that was said after she left.” She claimed she still worked there “and was leaving as soon as her ride got there” because she was intoxicated and could not drive. She was told to leave the premises or face criminal charges.

The caller said he heard a crash and saw damage to the vehicle but did not see it strike anything. The vehicle was tracked to the 700 block of North Seventh Street and said a woman who identified herself as the driver said she was giving her friend, who was intoxicated, a ride home from the Legion and told them she “did not believe she struck anything,” though police said the driver side tire was out of alignment and the front bumper was torn out from under neath the vehicle and the passenger, who owned the vehicle, said the damage had not been there before. Police found a “Do Not Enter” street sign that had been flattened “and a piece of bumper from a vehicle” was located at Commercial and North streets.
