Charged: Mirand M. Martin, 41, no fixed address, burglary and obstructing an officer, Monday.

Charged: Roscoe Withers, 47, 120 Carol Road, driving under the influence, Monday.

Steubenville Police

Bad habits: The manager at Fort Steuben Apartments reported the theft of old radiator pipe from an apartment on the sixth floor, Monday. She said she was doing inspections when she discovered the theft and said she’d been told pipe had been removed from other apartments but hasn’t confirmed it yet and said multiple individuals told her an individual on the complex’s banned list for damaging a radiator in November was responsible.

Stocked up: A property owner reported items missing from a furnished apartment in the 1400 block of Oak Grove Avenue, Monday. She said she’d evicted the tenant earlier in the day and discovered a 32-inch TV, a TV stand, two window air conditioners and a Verizon router had been removed from the property. She said it was fully furnished when she rented the unit to him in June.

Hungry man: Employees at Kroger told police a man fled the store with a bag of food he hadn’t paid for, Monday. Police located a man matching the description they were given on Calvin Jones Way and said when he saw them “he took off running” so an officer gave chase, catching up to him on Stanton Boulevard. William L. Emerich, 51, 1335½ Euclid Ave., Steubenville, was charged with misdemeanor theft and obstruction, and served with a bench warrant for petit theft after they found three steaks and Fireball stashed in his bag. The items in the bag were valued at just over $118.

Bagged: A woman loaded her purse with merchandise from Family Dollar and walked out without paying for any of it, Monday. Employees said she fled in a white Hyundai and had a plate number for police.

Jefferson County Sheriff

Anger issues: A Jefferson County man told deputies he and his family were being threatened by an individual who he’d arrested years ago for raping a minor, Monday. He said the man had threatened him with “bodily harm, threats of burning and/or destroying property, including the residence he lives in.” He said the man also threatened his family members.
