Red Cross declares national blood crisis, seeks donors The American Red Cross has declared a national blood crisis for only the second time in its history, citing a four-year summer low in blood donations and an urgent need for donors. All blood types are needed, with type O blood in especially short supply. Beatty Park death due to fall, coroner reports

STEUBENVILLE — A man found dead by hikers last week appeared to have fallen, Police Chief Wes Crawford said Monday. The victim, 52-year-old Randy Bake, was found Friday morning near the old Stone Lodge in the north end of Beatty Park.
