Golf scramble includes

The event, which is set for July 21 at Spring Hills Golf Club in East Springfield, will feature the “TS Electric Hole-in-One Challenge,” and players can attempt to sink a putt to win either a $10,000 home entertainment center or $25,000 in cash.
Four-person teams may register at 7:45 a.m. and tee off following a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. The cost is $60 per golfer, and the event also will also include prize money for the top three teams, a 50/50 drawing, skins and skill prizes plus a continental breakfast, light lunch and dinner. Space is limited to 32 teams.
Sponsored by the Friends of Edison Levy Committee, proceeds from the scramble will be used to promote the 2.1-mill emergency renewal levy that is on the Nov. 5 general election ballot. The measure, which is for a term of seven years, would equal $1,059,000 annually and help centralize sports and school activities on the Edison High School campus in Richmond, according to a news release. The baseball and softball fields currently are located near Jefferson State Lake, and athletes also hold track practice and meets as well as junior high basketball practice at Stanton Elementary.
