Wellsburg Kiwanis applaud youth

The Wellsburg Kiwanis Club recently presented a scholarship and recognized several other members of the Brooke High School Key Club. Michaela Mahan is the recipient of a $500 scholarship awarded to outstanding Key Club members. Qualifying seniors must complete an application and write a one-page essay on “The Role of Key Club and Community Service.” Mahan is a four-year member of Key Club and served as an officer for three years. She also is a three-year recipient of the President’s Volunteer Service Award, having volunteered the required number of hours for her sophomore, junior and senior years at Brooke High School. Other 2019 recipients of the President’s Volunteer Service Award were: Emily Donley, two-year recipient; Braydon DeMaria, two-year recipient; and Jacob Donley. Outgoing Key Club officers for 2018-19 also were recognized. They are President Rebecca Conaway, Vice President Josh Caswell, Secretary Tess Barnhart and Treasurer Michaela Mahan.
