Holiday door contest

The Ohio Valley Health Center held its third-annual holiday open house Thursday, which included a door decorating contest. Businesses, along with OVHC staff and nonprofit organizations, joined in the contest. Of the 25 doors and two bonus doors decorated inside the downtown Steubenville clinic, three winners were announced, as voted on by visitors to the open house throughout the day. The winner for Best Overall door was done by OVHC staff members Juliett Hamilton and Dr. Janet Bischoff for their rendition on the medicine room’s door done in Peanuts characters. The Most Creative door went to A and B Pharmacy for their “There Snow Place Like OVHC” door. And the Funniest door décor went to the Jefferson County General Health District for its “Wrap more than just presents this Christmas,” door. Their creative work displayed a Christmas tree containing ornaments represented by the use of condoms in order to send a message about having safe sex and preventing diseases. OVHC Executive Director Ann Quillen decorated her door using the “I’m dreaming of a pink Christmas” theme in recognition of breast cancer awareness.
