WINTERSVILLE — The Upper Ohio Valley Camera Club held its February competition on Tuesday at Two Ridges Presbyterian Church, located at 1085 Canton Road in Wintersville.

Those placing in the monthly category entitled “Icicles,” included, John Hanish, first place; Dave Rees, second place; and Jenny Riegler and Gina Judy, a tie for third place.

In the Open category, top finishers were: Gary Churella, first place; Hanish, second place; and Rees, third place.

Those who finished in the top three spots for the category of Special Effects were: Sue Adey, first place; Momyer, second place; and John Newlin, third place.

The Ohio Valley Camera Club meets on the first and third Tuesday of every month.

The first meeting is educational and covers a variety of topics, according to Adey, who noted the most recent presentation was performed by Dennis Jones.

Jones showed members a PowerPoint display which included in-depth information regarding how to best photograph the moon.

Several of Jones’ photos accompanied the presentation, with each having its own story.

February’s workshop was presented by Riegler, who demonstrated how to use a GoPro.

Riegler’s presentation included videos and photos taken during an off-grid trip down the Colorado River.

On the third Tuesday of every month, a competition is held. The contest features a new monthly category, along with an Open and a Special Effects category.

Adey announced the club welcomes anyone who has an interest in photography to join. All camera formats are acceptable, including the use of smart phones. For information, visit the Ohio Valley Camera Club’s Facebook page.
