Valley’s Got Talent auditions set
STEUBENVILLE — The Sycamore Youth Center is inviting young performers from across the Ohio Valley to showcase their talents in the upcoming Valley’s Got Talent Kids Edition, a competition designed for children ages 8-13 who live within 35 miles of Steubenville.
Young performers can audition either in person or online. In-person auditions will take place Sunday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Sycamore Youth Center, while those who prefer to submit a video audition may do so online by March 20 at 11:59 p.m.
Finalists will be notified by March 20 through text or email.
The event aims to provide a positive stage for young people to share their abilities while inspiring others through music, dance and other forms of creative expression.
Participants can compete in several categories including vocal soloists, bands or vocal groups, dance, and miscellaneous talents such as instrumental performances, poetry or other unique acts. Organizers note that all songs performed must contain Christian or inspirational themes, and lyrics must be submitted with each entry.
Contestants will be judged based on spiritual or inspirational impact, vocal or instrumental excellence, and overall presentation and connection with the audience.
Approximately 20 acts will be selected as finalists, with about five performers chosen from each category. The finalists will then compete in a live performance at 6:30 p.m. March 27 at the Sycamore Youth Center.
The final event will be broadcast live on Facebook and aired on tape delay on Comcast cable through the Steubenville City Schools Channel, allowing family members and supporters to watch from home.
