Town and Country EAST SPRINGFIELD — A two-lady scramble was held May 7 at Spring Hills Golf Club. The team of Debbie Hendricks and Michele Purviance came in first and Kathy Antinone and Toni Dondzila came in second. After a few weeks of rain, the league resumed play May 28 with a scramble. Two teams tied for first place: Veronica Foldi, Jennie Epifano, Linda Staffilino and Michele Purviance. History in the Hills: Area concerts remembered

STEUBENVILLE — Work at Historic Fort Steuben is never slow. Staff are typically working on events, visiting with guests, completing office work or leading tours. There is never a quiet moment, and that is a good thing. The past month has been especially busy with school field trips. The season that has just ended included 16 school tours totaling more than 700 students. I remember being a young man in grade school (and all the way through high school if we are honest), making doodles and drawings all over my schoolwork. I would try to do the assignment, but if I struggled or got bored, I would often start drawing little cartoons or images I would see on album covers or other places in popular culture on the pages instead of the work assigned. St. Clairsville’s Crescent Acres Event Center sets open house

ST. CLAIRSVILLE – A new event center created for weddings and other special happenings is ready to show itself off to the community. An open house is planned for 5-8 p.m. on June 19 at the Crescent Acres Event Center, located at 70200 Crescent Road in St. Clairsville. Distinctive and large front windows provide dramatic natural light for weddings, and a nearby pond offers the option for an outdoor venue. There’s also a large deck that overlooks the property.
