Brooke County sheriff

Arrested: Summer N. Shaffer, 41,107 Elaine Ave., Weirton, reckless driving, March 17.

Arrested: Ian D. Schon, 29, Pittsburgh, driving under the influence, Saturday.

Arrested: Harry B. Tredway, 31, 1218 Hanlin Way, Weirton, driving while suspended (administrative), possession of marijuana, reckless driving and leaving an accident with property damage, Saturday.

Arrested: Andrew A. Isinghood, 26, 2 Carolina Ave., Wellsburg, possession of a controlled substance, Monday.

Jefferson County sheriff

Interrupted: A Bergholz woman who said she’s grieving the passing of her long-time companion told deputies members of his family are creating issues, removing items from the residence including things that belong to her, Sunday.

Not welcome: A woman living on Mary Street, Indian Creek township, said a female claiming to be selling home security systems came to her door and was “very insistent,” Saturday. The homeowner said she told the woman she wasn’t interested several times, but the woman refused to leave. When she contacted the company, the homeowner was told no sales teams were working in her area and that they work by appointment only.

Found: A vehicle that was left parked on state Route 7 north of Steubenville overnight Saturday was towed, deputies said. The vehicle was left in the passing lane with its hazard lights activated between the bridge and the U.S. Route 22/state Route 213 junction.

Missing: A black 1997 Honda Civic left parked in a private driveway in Springfield township, Bergholz, was towed, Sunday. Deputies said the vehicle’s bumper was partially in the roadway, creating a safety hazard. The registered owner said the car had been sold to an individual who resides in the area where it was found, deputies said.

Burgled: A residence on Cool Springs Road was entered while the owner was away, Sunday. Family members said about $700 in rolled coins was stolen along with a Ruger bolt action rifle. Deputies said the thieves attempted to open a gun safe but were unsuccessful.

Caught: Deputies stopped a vehicle for speeding, only to learn the driver was wanted on felony warrants out of Columbus for failure to appear on charges of possessing cocaine, driving under suspension and possession of drug paraphernalia, Sunday. The man was turned over to the Ohio State Highway Patrol at the Belmont County line, they said.

Booked: Sidney Rae Miles, 22, 1344 Arlington Ave., Steubenville, failure to appear, Friday; Jeannie Perkins, 40, 723 Mason St., Springfield, possession of drugs and speeding, Sunday; Ricky Sheets, 22, 12402 state Route 213, Irondale, failure to appear.

Steubenville police

Get out: A Steubenville woman who’d been away for a month to help an ill family member kicked her husband out of their home hours after her return, the man told police, Sunday. The woman said her husband had “caused a disturbance over her going to Arizona to be with a family member who “almost passed away.”

Cited: David E. Wright, 21, Wilmington, Ohio, was cited for a red light violation Sunday following a two-car accident at state Route 7 and Labelle Avenue. Police said Wright told them the through light was green but the left turn arrow was red, and when he made his turn he struck an oncoming van.

Stopped: A driver who stopped her car in the middle of the intersection of University Boulevard and North Seventh Street told police her shoe had fallen off so she couldn’t press the gas pedal, Sunday.

Argument: A woman who’d argued with her boyfriend at a hotel told police the marks on her arm and around her neck were from a previous argument, Sunday. The woman had returned to her room and the male left the area in his car, a witness said.

In custody: Two juveniles who continued to walk in the roadway in the 100 block of South Seventh Street after being warned by police that they needed to use the sidewalk ended up in police custody, Sunday. One child complied with instructions to sit down, the other tried to flee. Both were advised they would be cited for failure to use the sidewalk. Because they refused to identify themselves when asked, they also were charged with obstruction before being released in the custody of their mothers.

Booked: Charles Takash, 43, 45 High St., Steubenville, driving under the influence, driving under suspension, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to control, Sunday; Kristin Dallas, 18, 112 W College St., Scio, possession of drugs, Sunday.

Cited: Aaron Hickle, 41, 347 Patton Ave., driving while suspended; Pierce Pietro, 18, 289 Skyview Drive, red light violation; and Lee J. DeCesare,48, 112 Marshall Road, dogs at large. Speeding citations were issued to Marsha A. Gibson, 54, Akron; Thomas Beaver, 36, 353 Patton Ave.; James E.
