Steubenville Police Surprise visitor: An Oakmont Avenue resident said she was asleep on her sofa when she awakened to find someone in her home, Thursday. She said she assumed it was a family member headed up to her bedroom and called out several times, but instead a strange man “wearing a hat, jeans and a black shirt came down the stairs into her living room.” The homeowner said when she asked the man who he was he said he was looking for someone and left on foot. Steubenville Police Telling whoppers: A caller reported a woman sleeping on the porch of a vacant property in the 1500 block of Maryland Avenue, Wednesday. Police said the woman told them she had permission to be there, but they contacted the property’s maintenance supervisor who told her to leave.
