Joseph Mitchell, 30, 1301 Ridge Ave., was charged with violating a protection order after police found him at a residence in the 800 block of Market Street while following up on a 9-1-1 hangup call. Steubenville Police Funny business: A caller reported a disturbance at a residence in the 100 block of Fellows Drive, Steubenville, Thursday. The caller said a red truck “kept pulling in and out of the driveway and a male and female were screaming at each other and possibly throwing things.” Police spoke with the female, who said her boyfriend was upset because she didn’t want him to spend the night and grabbed her cellphone and then left, but kept coming back. Steubenville Police Donut run: A caller reported someone “doing donuts” in a car and then wrecking, Wednesday. Police said they found the car “stuck on a pole.” The driver, identified as Naakee Woodland, 21, 956 Sherman Ave., allegedly told police he lost control and “when he attempted to hit the brakes it made it worse and he struck the wooden poles in front of the pavilions.” Police said the vehicle was “suspended in the air on top of three poles that had come out of the ground” and had heavy front-end damage. Steubenville Police Cheating hearts: A woman reported a disturbance in the 3100 block of Central Avenue, Tuesday. Police said the woman, who was intoxicated, told them she’d been drinking with a male friend and they started arguing about a civil matter involving another individual and claims at one point the male “grabbed her by the front of her shirt, causing her necklace to break” so she “grabbed a dog leash and hit him (with it).” He fled on foot, bleeding, and tried to flag a passing ambulance down, police said.
