Community Days set Friday through Sunday

FOLLANSBEE — The city of Follansbee is getting ready for another three days of fun and entertainment during the 26th-annual Follansbee Community Days set for Friday through Sunday at Follansbee Park.

During those days, the park will be filled with vendors, local artists and kids activities including a mini train ride and inflatable attractions.

The event will also include a main stage with live music each day of the celebration.

Organizers said the festival is known for oldies music and this year will be no different.

“Just like Jamboree In The Hills is known for country, we are known for oldies,” said Mayor David Velegol.

Musical guests Friday include the Fantasy’s at 6:30 p.m. and the Vogues at 8:30 p.m. On Saturday, the main stage will welcome On the Level at 6:45 p.m. and the Reflections at 8:30 p.m.

Guests on Sunday will be treated to the sounds of Twice as Nice at 4:30 p.m., Wee Jams at 6 p.m. and Motor Town All Stars at 8:30 p.m.

The annual Community Day Parade will be held on Main Street beginning at the park at 1 p.m. Saturday.

Another tradition will take place Sunday with the Howdy Verner Classic Cars Show at nearby Lyle’s Auto from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
