Chamber’s Wine and Dine event features food, fun and friendship
WEIRTON — Saturday was an evening of live music, food, friendship and more during the Weirton Area Chamber of Commerce’s 10th-annual Wine and Dine at Williams.
Held at Williams Golf and Country Club, the event included tastings of various wines and beers, along with food prepared by the country club and live music by “Anthony and Buddy”.
“I think it was a nice night and everyone enjoyed themselves,” chamber President Brenda Mull said. “It’s a nice night to get together.”
Mull thanked Williams Golf and Country Club for hosting the event, saying she felt attendees enjoyed the atmosphere at the venue.
The Wine and Dine at Williams serves as a fundraiser for some of the chamber’s educational programs, which includes Youth Leadership Weirton, available to high school sophomores in Hancock and Brooke counties, and the Dr. Barbara A. Matey High School Business Symposium, offered to high school juniors in West Virginia, Ohio and Pennsylvania.
Funds from the event also have been used to support the costs of maintaining the community Christmas lights.
The evening concluded with the “Man Cave” after party, held behind the country club’s pro shop, with cigars and other offerings.
Support for the event was provided by PS Marketing, gold sponsor; WesBanco, food sponsor; Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Sewickley, wine glass sponsor; Fairfield by Marriott, entertainment sponsor; Wine and Beverage Merchants of West Virginia, beverage sponsor; Paper & Press Ink, program sponsor; and Microtel Inn and Suites by Wyndham, ticket sponsor.
The “Man Cave” was sponsored by “An industry friend of the community.”
