United Way looks to hit the jackpot

WHEELING — The United Way of the Upper Ohio Valley has announced its newest fundraiser — Jackpot Jubilee — with an evening of food, fun, and prizes.

The Jackpot Jubilee will take place Thursday in the Showroom at Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., with a gourmet buffet and food stations available starting at 6 p.m. and games, drawings and other activities kicking off at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $50 and includes a buffet dinner, five no-value casino chips to access several games featuring celebrity dealers, themed chip bags sponsored by MPR Transloading, music, dancing and other entertainment.

Additional chips will be available for purchase at a rate of 10 chips for $5.

This year’s Jackpot Jubilee also will serve as a football season kickoff party, with attendees encouraged to wear their favorite team jersey or gear.

“All proceeds from Jackpot Jubilee will go directly to the United Way’s annual campaign,” said Staci Stephen, United Way executive director. “We are merging two of our most popular events to give our guests a night they won’t forget — while raising the funds that help us support critical services right here in the Upper Ohio Valley.”

Event sponsors include Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack, Main Street Bank, Kalkrueth Roofing and Sheet Metal, WTRF-TV, WTOV-TV, Edward Jones – Daniel Young, Cardinal Operating Company, MPR Transloading, Carenbauer Distributing Corp., iHeart Media, Wine and Beverage Merchants

Premier Sponsors include WVU Medicine Wheeling Hospital and Reynolds Memorial Hospital, Berger and Green Attorneys at Law, Comcast, Covestro, Westlake, Expand Energy, Williams, EQT, Harvey Goodman Realty, Goodman Properties, and Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack and to our Annual Sponsors: Belmont Savings Bank, Panhandle Cleaning and Restoration, MPLX and the Health Plan.
