Stop the Bleed

West Virginia State Police troopers in Hancock and Brooke counties have received “Stop the Bleed” kits, courtesy of WVU Medicine Weirton Medical Center. The kits are designed to assist in controlling potentially traumatic blood loss while in the field. Troopers gathered at the hospital Tuesday to train with the kits. According to hospital officials, severe bleeding is the leading cause of preventable death in trauma cases. — Contributed
