Boil order issued on State Street, Morgan Drive

WEIRTON – A boil order has been issued for State Street and Morgan Drive, as well as any other customers in the area who lost water pressure as a result of work performed on a water line in the area today.

The Weirton Area Water Board issued the boil order just after 10 a.m. today, under requirements from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the West Virginia Bureau of Public Health.

If you live in the affected area, bring all water to a boil, let it boil for one minute, and let it cool before using, or use bottled water. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, bathing, and food preparation until further notice. Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms in the water. Disinfection will be verified as soon as possible and the boil water notice will be lifted through local media notification.
