No Kings rally set for Saturday
WHEELING — The Ohio County Democratic Women’s Club, Marchers Ohio Valley Empowered and the Jefferson County chapter of the Midwest Center for Constitutional Rights will hold a No Kings rally Saturday.
It will begin at 11:15 a.m. with a march from the intersection of National Road and Kruger Street to the Elm Grove Post Office, where a demonstration will begin at 11:30 a.m.
The organizations said the alliance will provide a platform for like-minded residents from all parts of the Ohio Valley to be represented and is one of more than 2,500 similar events to be held around the country in protest of over-reach by the president and his administration and cuts to federal food and health care programs.
Route 30 lane closure set
CHESTER — A portion of U.S. Route 30 (Lincoln Highway), eastbound and westbound, from the Pennsylvania state line to the intersection of state Route 8, will be restricted to one lane of traffic from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Oct. 24 for resurfacing.
Flaggers will maintain traffic. Motorists are advised to slow down and expect delays. Inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances may change the project schedule.
Temporary Penco Road closure set
WEIRTON — A portion of Penco Road northbound, at the intersection of Cove Road and Pennsylvania Avenue, will be closed, from 5 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Friday for the Madonna High School homecoming parade.
Traffic will be maintained by local law enforcement.
Motorists are advised to reduce speed, expect delays and use alternate routes. Inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances could change the project schedule.
Business Bootcamp session canceled
WEIRTON — The Business Bootcamp session, which had been scheduled for Thursday, has been canceled because of a lack of participation.
The session was to focus on zoning regulations in the city of Weirton, as well as a comparison of advantages for buying versus renting a location. The educational series is being presented by the Weirton Area Chamber of Commerce, Business Development Corp., the city and First Microloan of West Virginia.
The next session will be held 8 a.m. Nov. 20 at the Millsop Community Center with a theme of “Building Your Brand: Strategize Your Marketing and Social Media Presence.” Contact the chamber at (304) 748-7212 for information.
