PITTSBURGH — Kennywood is back on the national stage, as Phantom Fall Fest has been named one of the country’s best theme park Halloween events by USA Today 10Best readers. Landing in the top 10, Phantom Fall Fest claimed the ninth spot.
The region’s annual Halloween tradition puts more horror into the season every Friday, Saturday and Sunday through Nov. 1, plus Oct. 23. This year, attendees are in for even more frights as the park debuts an all-new haunt, Detached. Brave souls are encouraged to pull themselves together as they enter the terrifying toy store of the Puppet Master. His delusional quest to build the perfect puppet has led him deeper into madness. Now, he’s handpicking the parts he desires from the brave people who enter his shop. Those who enter should keep their head on straight if they are going to survive a trip through a world of deranged dolls and manic marionettes.
According to the rankings, Phantom Fall Fest offers family-friendly fun during the day with more intense scares as the night progresses, After the sun sets, the review contines, attendees are able to traverse six sinister haunts and four scare zones filled with full-on frights. Seasonal funnel cakes, beer and specialty cocktails are fun wind-down treats after riding Phantom’s Revenge, which is especially scary surrounded by a thick fog in the dark of night.
The fall-themed event offers family-friendly daytime activities, a variety of seasonal food and beverage offerings, and Kennywood’s signature rides and attractions. Those looking to experience this top 10 Halloween event can save up to 50 percent on tickets online for a limited time.
