WEIRTON – The Weirton Area Water Board has reported work at the Texas Street pump station earlier today may result in discolored water for the Weirton Heights area of the city.

A pump at the station was repaired and put back into service. Officials note starting the pump may have stirred up sedimentation in the line, creating the discolored water.

It is expected the discoloration should dissipate as the water travels to the end of the system towards the state line.
