Vote expected on Steubenville’s next police chief

STEUBENVILLE — The committee tasked with guiding the selection process for Steubenville’s next police chief has interviewed the three in-house applicants. The three — Capt. Joe Buchmelter, Capt. Ettor Canestraro and Capt. Wes Crawford — met privately with the committee during Thursday’s special meeting. WEIRTON – The Weirton Area Water Board has issued a boil order for South 12th Street, and some connecting roads following work on a water line in the area. Weirton Council to discuss property maintenance concerns

WEIRTON – Members of Weirton Council will sit down next week to discuss concerns with, and possible adjustments to, the city's property maintenance procedures. A work session has been scheduled for 6 p.m., Tuesday, in Room 201 of the Weirton Municipal Building, with an agenda to include discussion of “general property maintenance compliance, enforcement and procedures.” The work session is open to the public. Concert postponed

STEUBENVILLE — The thunderstorms that hit the Tri-State Area this afternoon forced officials at Historic Fort Steuben to postpone tonight's concert that had been scheduled for the Berkman Amphitheater. Restless Hearts and Aristotle Jones and the Appalachian Soul Band have been rescheduled for Aug. 13, according to Paul Zuros, executive director at the fort. The series will continue next Thursday beginning at 7 p.m. with the Rat Pack Tribute, featuring Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Marilyn Monroe, and the Vince Villanova Big Band.
