STEUBENVILLE — The committee tasked with guiding the selection process for Steubenville’s next police chief has interviewed the three in-house applicants. The three — Capt. Joe Buchmelter, Capt. Ettor Canestraro and Capt. Wes Crawford — met privately with the committee during Thursday’s special meeting. Concert postponed

STEUBENVILLE — The thunderstorms that hit the Tri-State Area this afternoon forced officials at Historic Fort Steuben to postpone tonight's concert that had been scheduled for the Berkman Amphitheater. Restless Hearts and Aristotle Jones and the Appalachian Soul Band have been rescheduled for Aug. 13, according to Paul Zuros, executive director at the fort. The series will continue next Thursday beginning at 7 p.m. with the Rat Pack Tribute, featuring Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Marilyn Monroe, and the Vince Villanova Big Band.

Boil order lifted for area of Inez Street

WEIRTON - The Weirton Area Water Board has lifted the boil order issued Wednesday for the 1000 and 1100 blocks of Pennsylvania Avenue, the 100 block of Inez Street, and the 100 block of North 11th Street, effective at 7:10 a.m. today. Those in the affected area may resume using water without any restrictions or requirement to boil.

Weirton Council to discuss property maintenance concerns
