He was also preceded in death by grandchildren, Martin Kempen, Anna Lena Kempen; sisters, Marjorie Kibler, Marilyn Stout, Phyllis Martin.

Rich was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. He served his country in the United States Air Force. Rich enjoyed golfing and the many friendships of family and friends. He was a giving and generous person who helped many people to better their selves. He was the retired owner/ operator/hair stylist of the former Rich’s Groom Room of Weirton. Rich was also a real estate investor.

Surviving is his wife of 68 years, Phyllis Boltz Bohrer; daughters, Agina Kempen (Paul) of Weirton, WV, Christina Ensminger (Keith) of Bloomingdale, OH; son, Randall Bohrer (Katherine) of Martins ferry, OH; sister, Karen Falk of Princeton, IL; ten grandchildren, Nicole Workman (Cody), Jeffrey Ensminger (Jessica), Brian Ensminger (Traci), Krista Parsons (Joseph), Kelly Ensminger (Chad McVicker), Thomas Kempen (Stephanie), Jodi Oberdick (Jeff), Lori Brown (Michael), Stephen Carpino (Stacy), Boyd Carpino (Barbara); fifteen great grandchildren.

Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday July 25, 2023, at STEEL & WOLFE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 380 Penco Road, Weirton, WV where the funeral will be held on Wednesday ay 11:00 a.m. with Pastor James Rhodes presiding. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Military funeral honors will be rendered by the USAF and American Legion Post No. 10 honor guards.
