ELLEN GAREIS
								Ellen Virginia Gareis, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother of Weirton passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at Grace Cottage with her loving family by her side. She was eighty years old.
She was born in Pittsburgh, PA, on November 12, 1942, to John and Helen Stack Rust and graduated from Holy Innocents Catholic School in Crafton. A faithful and devout member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, Ellen was a member of the Christian Mothers and enjoyed volunteering in many capacities within the church.
Ellen’s ability to volunteer went beyond her church as she spent over 17 years within Weirton Medical Center Radiology Lab assisting patients with their appointments and volunteering at the Weirton Sr. Center.
In her spare time, Ellen enjoyed traveling with her husband Earl who sadly passed in January of 2010, and painting outdoor scenes, especially mountains.
In addition to her parents and husband Earl, Ellen was preceded in death by her twin daughters Margaret and Nancy Gareis, and brothers John and Robert Rust.
Left to cherish her love with complete admiration are her son Gregory Gareis, daughters Cheryl (Timothy) Derby, and Diana (John) Dulaney all of Weirton, grandchildren Timothy (Tjay) and Monica Derby, and Heather (Anthony) Abbott, Tyler Dulaney, great-grandchildren Bekah, Colton, Wyatt, Mikelle, and Naveah, brother William (Linda) Rust of Pittsburgh, sisters Patricia (Roscoe) Padgelek of Ruffsdale, PA., and Claire McNally of Pittsburgh, sisters-in-law Elaine and Chris Rust, and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with Ellen’s family on Tuesday at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral, 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV. from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church at 11 a.m.
Fr. Binu Sebastian will preside.
Ellen will be buried next to Earl and her precious twins in St. Columbkille Cemetery, Imperial, PA.
