ELIZABETH “BETTY” DIXON

Elizabeth Mae “Betty” Dixon, 78, of Toronto, OH, passed away Wednesday Feb. 7, 2024, in Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, OH.

Betty was born March 19, 1945, in Toronto, daughter of the late Floyd and Julia (Lisby) Peckins.

Betty was a former nurse’s aide and activities director at the Carriage Inn of Steubenville. She was a member of the Finley Church in Steubenville. She taught third and fourth grade Sunday School and sang in the choir. Betty loved to cook, bake, and spend time with her family.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her brother, William Peckins.

Surviving is her husband, Joe Dixon, whom she married March 16, 1968; children, Terry (Tonya) Dixon of Wichita, KS, Dawn (Matt) Trudics of Toronto, and Donny (Amy) Dixon of Bloomingdale, OH; two sisters, Virginia Oiler of Bloomingdale and Joy (Richard) Amick of Wintersville, OH; two grandsons, Ian Dixon and Zakary Trudics of Toronto and five granddaughters, Payton Dixon, Alice Dixon, Maegyn Trudics, Laura Dixon and Gabrille “Gabbi” Dixon.

A Memorial Service for Betty will be held this Saturday Feb. 10, 2024, at 5 pm at Finley Church in Steubenville. Family and friends are invited to gather from 4 pm to 5 pm. Pastor Gregory Kasler will officiate. Burial will be held at the convenience of Betty’s family in the Toronto Union Cemetery.
