KENNY KOURIM SR.
Kenneth Robert ‘Kenny’ Kourim, Sr., 90, of Smithfield, OH, passed away Thursday June 20, 2024, in Trinity West in Steubenville, OH.
Kenny was born July 27, 1933, in Plum Run, OH, son of the late Jerry and Thelma (Cooper) Kourim.
Kenny retired five years ago from Egypt Valley Limestone, where he was a heavy equipment operator. He also worked several different jobs throughout his long life.
He was a member of the Mingo Sportsman’s Club, ABATE of Ohio, Inc., and was a Harley Davidson enthusiast. Kenny’s favorite hobby was spending time with his grandkids.
Kenny was also a Veteran of the Korean War having served his country in the US Army.
In addition to his parents, Kenny was preceded in death by four brothers, Thomas, Jerry ‘Junie’, Bill, and Jack Kourim and one sister, Betty Verhovec.
Surviving is his wife, Carol A. (Reasbeck) Kourim, whom he married Dec. 21, 1956; son, Kenneth Robert ‘Kenny’ Kourim, Jr. and fiancÈ Debby Hauck of New Alexandria, OH; daughter, Terry Kourim and companion Edward Barnes of Wintersville, OH; six grandchildren, Jason and Donna Jo Brown, Justin Fuller, Cory, Chelsey and Cristen Fish and nine great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Service for Kenny will be held on Monday, June 24 at 1:00 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Smithfield. Friends will be received from 11 am to 1 pm. Pastor Bob Carson, and Kenny’s son Kenny, Jr., will officiate and burial will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens in Pleasant Grove, OH.
Military Honors will be presented at the cemetery by the Piney Fork and Dillonvale American Legion Honor Guard. www.jefosterfh.com
