GILBERT KROVOCHECK
In loving memory of Gilbert (Gibby) George Krovocheck who died on June 13, 2025. He was 83 years old.
He was one of eight children of the late Timo Krovocheck and Elizabeth Borovitz Krovocheck. Gilbert was born on August 31, 1941. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 61 years Bernice Mankowski Krovocheck. Daughters, Denise Krovocheck and Tina (Rick) Baker. He also leaves behind two sisters Ann Marie Belich and Diane Naglich. Grandchildren, Ryan Maple and Christopher Baker.
He was proceeded in death by his brother, Sam Krovocheck and sisters, Mildred Meronoff, Dolores Meronoff, Estelle Harris and Zora Trbovich, and Michael Krovocheck. Grandchildren Brandon Maple and Brooke Baker. Gilbert grew up in Nemacolin, PA, and attended Cumberland Township High School as well as Point Park Junior College. Gilbert worked in the sheet mill at Weirton Steel. Gilbert was an avid sports fan and he enjoyed playing football softball racquetball and was a member of the Millsop Community Center. Gilbert was a member of the Follansbee, WV congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses where he served as an elder.
There will be a memorial service at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Follansbee, West Virginia on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at 2:30 PM officiated by David Smith.
