He was born on October 12, 1939, in Wheeling, WV to the late William Rau Sr. and Belva Cleo (Carpenter) Ball. George E. Ash Sr., born August 9, 1950, died June 3, 2026, at the age of 75, surrounded by the love of his family. A decorated combat veteran, George served with the 101st Airborne Division as a door gunner during the Vietnam conflict and was awarded the Bronze Star along with numerous other service honors and medals.
