Congratulations to Madonna honorees

From its first induction in 2012 until now, the Madonna High School Hall of Fame has honored the accomplishments and contributions of more than 50 individuals or groups. Later this year, eight more will be added to the roster or distinguished graduates and community members. Officials with Madonna High School announced members of the Hall of Fame Class of 2024 last week, with a range of inductees. A formal ceremony is being scheduled for October. More investment in our parks

While there has been much attention in the last year to discussions by the Weirton Board of Parks and Recreation and Weirton Council on what is and isn’t needed in the city’s recreational offerings, it has been nice to see some investment from outside of city governance taking place. West Virginia voters will be heading to the polls Tuesday to make their selections for the state’s primary election. We will, of course, be asked to cast votes for partisan nominees for president, members of Congress, West Virginia governor and other high-level candidates. We also will be offered selections for a variety of local offices, including county commission, county board of education, sheriff, magistrate and more.
