Another successful Greek Festival
To the Editor,
The congregation of All Saints Greek Orthodox Church of Weirton extends sincerest thanks and deep appreciation to the people of Weirton and surrounding communities in the Tri-State for making Weirton Greek Festival 2015 a resounding success far exceeding our expectations.
Thanks to you, our church set a record in hosting over 8,000 people in three days! The community support was overwhelming.
The Weirton Greek Festival has become a major ethnic event in the city and we wish to extend our thanks to city officials, our dedicated police and sheriff officers, our West Street neighbors, our business sponsors, the news media, both print and TV, Weirton Christian Center youth volunteers and the dozens of dedicated volunteers from our community!
In the spirit of sharing in our success, monetary donations will be made to both Weirton Christian Center and the Community Bread Basket to assist both organizations in continuing to serve our city in providing critical social services’ needs.
We are very pleased and proud to be part of this city and its diversity and truly appreciate the opportunity to share our unique culture, heritage and traditions as we strive to “Preserve the Legacy” for future generations of children and grandchildren from Greek immigrant roots.
We look forward to once again celebrating with you on July 7, 8 and 9, 2016.
Thank you very much Weirton, or as we say in Greek “Efharisto Poli”!
