Big Red girls keep rolling
STEUBENVILLE — The undefeated Big Red gitls soccer team keeps rolling.
Steubenville won for the eighth time in as many matches on Tuesday, pulling away from Edison for a 14-0 victory on Reno Field inside Harding Stadium.
Big Red scored 17 seconds into the game and did not look back, opening a 12-0 lead at halftime.
Lucy Saccoccia had a hat trick to lead the way, while Gianna Thomas had two goals and an assist and Bailee Beall scored two goals and assisted on six goals.
Ava Antill also scored two goals, as did Jaclyn Stewart, Amelia Collopy had a goal and an assist, Kenzy Petrelle and Grace Jordan each had a goal and Ali Pierce and Kaylie Lewis had a pair of assists.
Jodecki Greene made one save in goal.
Big Red, ranked in the top-10 in Division III by MaxPreps, travels to Weir High on Saturday.
VOLLEYBALL
Oak Glen stays perfect
NEW MANCHESTER — The Oak Glen volleyball stayed undefeated on Tuesday by sweeping Moon Area at home.
For the now 13-0 Golden Bears, McKenzi Martin had 12 kills, Averi Martin recorded 11 kills, Brooklyn Six had eight kills and Reecelyn Craig tallied six kills, while Mikalyn Balch had 36 assists.
Edison gets first win
WELLSBURG — The youthful Edison volleyball team got into thr win column on Tuesday, winning a five-set battle on the road at Brooke.
The Wildcats won sets one, three and five in a back and forth contest.
LeighAnne Anderson tallied 11 kills and 16 digs, Rebecca Bell recorded 17 points and five digs, Avalia Hanlin finished with eight points and 20 digs, Sophia Henderson recorded four pointsm six blocks, five kills, 23 assists and five digs and Gracie Dray recorded six points, three digs, and six kills.
Ferry sweeps CCHS
STEUBENVILLE — The Martins Ferry volleyball team left Steubenville Tuesday night with a sweep of Catholic Central.
For the Crusaders, Ava Marcino recorded had two kills, four assists, a block, a dig and eight points, Lily Balzano had two kills, five assists, two digs and seven points, Emily Wacker tallied 11 points, three digs and a kill and Nici Krupp hd six points and eight digs.
Harrison sweeps
STEUBENVILLE — The Harrison Central volleyball team made it back-to-back wins with a sweep on the road at Big Red Tuesday evening.

Weir tops Madonna
WEIRTON — The Weir High golf team earned a win over city rival Madonna on Tuesday, 168-204.
Guy Meneely was the match medalist with a 40, while Justin Kaczmarek shot a 41, Aiden Ferguson a 43 and Isaiah Smith a 44.
For the Blue Dons, Matthew Geer fired a 43, Reed Wilharm tallied a 46, Cole Cantarbury a 54 and Thomas Welch a 61.
The Red Riders are now 16-4.
LATE MONDAY
Big Red golf wins
NEW CUMBERLAND — The Big Red golf team topped Oak Glen at Woodview on Monday, 169-209.
Leading Steubenville (9-3) Christopher Elliott shot a 38 to earn medalist honors, while Andrew Matzorkis fired a 43 and Marco Orecchio and Waylon Hayes each shot 44.
For Oak Glen, Cooper Cam and Zach Jenkins each fired a 50, while Aiden Anderson shot 52 and Marleah Elliott 54.
CCHS girls win
STEUBENVILLE — The Catholic Central girls soccer team defeated visiting Oak Glen, 3-1, on Monday to stay unbeaten at 8-0-1.
Sofia Walsh had two goals and an assist and Delaney Dankert also scored, while Josey Urbanczyk had five saves.
