WEIRTON — The Weir High boys basketball team dropped a 79-53 decision to visiting John Marshall on Friday night.

The Monarchs (7-9) scored 28 points in the second quarter after a close opening eight minutes.

The Red Riders (4-11) were led by 14 points from Kason Lash and 12 from Amir Williams.

Weir High hosts East Liverpool in OVAC consolation action on Tuesday night.
