MORGANTOWN — West Virginia football received some good news out of the courtroom Wednesday afternoon. Newly committed Georgia safety transfer JaCorey Thomas was granted eligibility by receiving a preliminary injunction at the Monroe County Circuit Court in Indiana. Thomas was one of around 100 college athletes seeking an injunction after the NCAA made new 5-for-5 rules regarding eligibility, which didn’t include class of 2022 athletes. Lawyer: Ex-Steelers star Antonio Brown to avoid prison

Former NFL star wide receiver Antonio Brown plans to accept a plea deal that will have him avoid prison time on a reduced charge in an attempted murder case in Miami. His lawyer said Wednesday the agreement with prosecutors was too good to turn down. Brown is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 30 to make the deal final.
