Connect needs with services

2 min read

To the Editor,

During the last couple years as Commissioner, I have become aware of services that are available that I wasn't aware of before. I thought you might appreciate knowing this information because these are services that are already paid for by your tax dollars that might benefit your family.

VA Bus Service is one. If you are a veteran and need to go to a doctor appointment at a VA, you can request this bus to pick you up and take you to and from the VA. Once at the VA, bus rider appointments are prioritized, and riders are normally back home by midday.

VA Bus Service Information Call 304-527-3410 x 102

Home meal delivery is another service for homebound seniors. These meals are freshly prepared, packed and delivered by a considerate driver every day. If you or a loved one would like to be added to a route. For more information, the number to call is 304-527-3410 x 103.

If you or your loved one have thoughts of suicide, crisis counselors are available by calling or texting 988.

Generally connecting your WV needs with WV services can be found by calling 833-848-9905.
