Steubenville Police
Charged: A Weirton woman was taken into custody after a traffic stop in the 1400 block of Maryland Avenue, Wednesday. Police said Vicki L. Westlake, 39, 507 Heaslett Ave., Weirton, was charged with felony possession of drugs after they allegedly found a small coin purse containing an orange powder believed to be fentanyl and a snort straw hidden in her shoe. Police reported another small bag of the same powder fell out of the car when Westlake exited the vehicle, but they said she told them "she believed the item to be her boyfriend's as she recently caught him using drugs." Westlake also was cited for no operator's license and expired/unlawful plates.
Pained delivery: A woman reported pain in her legs after a silver Chevrolet pickup backed into her car while she was sitting in the delivery space row at Walmart, Wednesday. The pickup driver fled the scene, police said.
Noisy: A caller in the 1300 block of Maryland Avenue complained of "several individuals making loud noises," Wednesday. Upon investigating police were unable to locate them.
Fraud: A city resident reported someone took out a Small Business Administration loan in his name and $300 was deduced directly out of his Social Security Check, Wednesday. He said he's already contacted Social Security and the SBA.
Cited: Skye M. Malcolm, 26, 1504 Foster Pl., Steubenville, expired/unlawful plates and one headlight violation. Also issued tickets were Joseph C. Hansford, 37, Richmond Heights, OH, and Mariah F. Zimmerman, 23, 523 Cedar Ave., Steubenville, both for speeding.
