Quick takes
CERTIFIED: Dakota Collins, a patient navigator, has become WVU Medicine Weirton Medical Center’s first certified perinatal mental health professional. The milestone strengthens the hospital’s commitment to providing comprehensive care to perinatal patients and their families.
Her specialized education and training enhance the hospital’s ability to address the unique mental health needs of individuals during pregnancy and the postpartum period.
Collins’ certification supports WVU Medicine Weirton Medical Center in meeting the standards of care outlined in the maternal mental health bundle through the National Quality Collaborative Alliance for Innovation on Maternal Health.
In addition to benefiting patients, her expertise serves as a valuable resource for the hospital and the community. Collins received scholarship funding through the West Virginia Perinatal Partnership.
NEW REALTOR: Katherine Kanarr has joined the staff of Cedar One Realty. She brings dedication, diligence and a whole lot of personality to every transaction, Cedar One officials said.
Kanarr grew up in Carrollton, and moved more than 20 times across four different states before settling back in her hometown. That experience gives her firsthand insight into every stage of the relocation process, she said. A graduate of Carrollton High School and Buckeye Career Center in New Philadelphia, Kanarr earned her real estate license through Hondros College.
She said that her husband, Mark, has been, jokingly, “imported” from Texas, and is a proud mom to her daughter, Macy, who is attending school in Paris. Kanarr explained that this global family dynamic has helped shape her appreciation for new chapters, fresh starts and the excitement that comes with finding the right place to call home.
She can be reached at the Cedar One Wintersville office on her cell phone at (740) 228-0128, or by e-mail at kkanarr.realtor@gmail.com.
