Sign restoration completed

The Chester Beautification Committee recently completed one of its summer community projects which was the restoration of the iconic “Almost Heaven” sign, which was professionally repainted by Petrella Painting from Colliers. “The committee is pleased that this historic sign which has welcomed thousands of visitors to the state of West Virginia and the City of Chester since the early 1970s will continue to be a welcoming beacon for many more years to come,” a spokesperson noted. Celebrating its completion are, Debbie Havens, seated; middle, from left, Mary Ann Wright, Susan Wilson, Paige Rayle, Neil Rayle, Harry Lang, Joann Lang and Stephanie Ketchum; and back, Curt Havens and Jim Anderson. Dustin Lang also was on hand.
