Toronto Seniors Citizens Club enjoys tunes by marching band

TORONTO — President Judy Bickler opened the bumble-bee themed — “Bee Kind” meeting of the Toronto Senior Citizens, which was held Oct. 20.
Special thanks was extended to members who helped, including Rosemarie Cieslak, Dan Ciotti, Iris Craig, Virginia Dafoe, Mary Scott, Glenda Matheson and George Uselton among others.
Mary Alice Meyer gave the blessing and led in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Patty Smith was thanked for donating fall baskets.
The highlight of the meeting was the arrival of the Toronto High School Marching Band, which performed several tunes enjoyed by the membership.
Lois Hope won the 50-50 drawing and Kerry Theime, the take-a-chance basket. Emma Spicer was the door prize winner. Mary Scott, Mary McGee, Laura Mamula and Bill Landis were bingo winners.
Reports were given by Treasurer Rosemary Bonofine and Social Secretary Paula Kensavage, who announced birthdays and anniversaries.
Members were reminded that the work committee for the Thanksgiving meeting on Nov. 17 includes Carole Eddy, Joyce Dobbs, Marlene Dunn, Carol Weiher, Bonita Emery, Dorothy Farrister, Mary Ann Whalen, Sally and Barry Wilson and Linda and Kent Leasure.
Members were reminded to bring candy for the basket drawing.
The next trip will be to Columbiana on Nov. 20 for the Nick Costo Las Vegas Christmas Revue. The trip is sold out. The bus leaves the Toronto football stadium parking lot at 9:45 a.m.
