Hamilton coming

The Fort Steuben Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will watch as history comes alive at noon Sept. 13 at Gio’s restaurant in Weirton. Members and any women interested in joining the chapter are encouraged to attend. Actor Pete Fernbaugh will present “An Afternoon with Alexander Hamilton.” The year will be 1791, a time when our young nation is drowning in debt and stands at a crossroads. Hamilton has a bold and controversial plan — to place a tax on whiskey. On this night, he will take the stage to confront his critics and reveal the truth behind a policy many believe will save the republic … or tear it apart. Hamilton will make the case for the tax, arguing its opponents are not just against a levy on liquor, but against the future of the United States.
