Steubenville Police Freeloading: Employees asked police to remove a man from the premises after his card was declined and he refused to leave, Wednesday. They said they’d given the man until noon to clear out and prior to the cutoff he “would come to the front desk and give the receptionist a hard time before going back to his room.” Once the deadline passed they had no contact with him, reporting he remained in the room, “occupying it for free.” When police told him he needed to vacate the premises they said he packed his things and left. He told police the couple “threatened to beat him up” because he reported they were causing problems several days ago at a downtown location. He said she “stole money from him in the past” and was not welcome in his home. The woman said she was doing her laundry at a friend’s apartment.
