Steubenville Police Fenced in: A driver crashed into a fence “on the back side of the first field about 50-60 feet up a hillside” on Stanton Boulevard, Friday. Police said the driver fled the scene, taking the keys but leaving an open container of alcohol behind in the drivers’ door storage pocket. The vehicle was towed. Jefferson County Sheriff Fishy story: Deputies spotted a U-Haul truck parked by the railroad tracks on Costona Lane near the Brown’s Island bridge, Tuesday. Steubenville Police Cited: An Oregon Avenue resident was cited after he allegedly balked at turning the volume on his car radio down, Monday. Police said several callers had complained about the loud music coming from his vehicle and report when they arrived, Shawn P. Wanner, 52, 1635 Oregon Ave., was washing his car with the volume turned up inside.
