Giving thanks

Kim Florence, president and general manager of Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack, right, was with Angela Goodson, executive director of Information Helpline, on Monday as the casino distributed more than 430 turkeys to several area charities, including the Soup Kitchen of Greater Wheeling, United Way of the Upper Ohio Valley, Wheeling Health Right and Catholic Charities of West Virginia. In addition, they provided turkeys for every Wheeling Fire Department fire station so those on duty Thanksgiving Day would be able to enjoy a holiday meal. — Scott McCloskey
