Jefferson Co. commissioners say their hands are tied on water line move

STEUBENVILLE — Jefferson County commissioners said they are being required to relocate a water line in the 1800 block of state Route 151 between New Alexandria and Georges Run because of a planned culvert replacement project by the Ohio Department of Transportation. ODOT plans to replace and extend an existing culvert beneath the roadway where Georges Run flows under the highway before discharging into the Ohio River. Traffic to be closed on Weir Avenue Saturday

WEIRTON - Traffic will be temporarily closed on Weir Avenue Saturday as part of a water line repair project. The Weirton Area Water Board reports crews will be on scene, beginning at 8 a.m., for a water line repair on Weir Avenue between Baker Street and Kessel Street. As a result, all traffic will be closed on Weir Avenue from South 11th Street to Pennsylvania Avenue until the project is completed. A boil order will be issued following the work for Weir Avenue and all connecting streets.

Shooting suspect arrested

STEUBENVILLE — A Steubenville man is in custody in Pennsylvania and faces charges in connection with a Tuesday evening shooting on Hollywood Boulevard that left another man injured and prompted a multi-agency investigation. Police Chief Ken Anderson said Deonbre Bailey-Anderson, 24, was taken into custody Wednesday with assistance from the Pittsburgh, Allegheny County and Swissvale police departments.
