Traffic to be closed on Weir Avenue Saturday

WEIRTON - Traffic will be temporarily closed on Weir Avenue Saturday as part of a water line repair project. The Weirton Area Water Board reports crews will be on scene, beginning at 8 a.m., for a water line repair on Weir Avenue between Baker Street and Kessel Street. As a result, all traffic will be closed on Weir Avenue from South 11th Street to Pennsylvania Avenue until the project is completed. A boil order will be issued following the work for Weir Avenue and all connecting streets.

Shooting suspect arrested

STEUBENVILLE — A Steubenville man is in custody in Pennsylvania and faces charges in connection with a Tuesday evening shooting on Hollywood Boulevard that left another man injured and prompted a multi-agency investigation. Police Chief Ken Anderson said Deonbre Bailey-Anderson, 24, was taken into custody Wednesday with assistance from the Pittsburgh, Allegheny County and Swissvale police departments. STEUBENVILLE – A water slide isn’t going to be one of the attractions when Steubenville’s newly revamped Belleview Pool reopens for the summer.
