To the Editor, The Neanderthal man He was half ape, half man Buried his dead Under a warm hearth Left some food in a bowl Took care of the lame Archaeologists digs have proven so Howling at the moon Sweating from the sun Life was precious to him Dreaming how to get to them Homosapiens envisioned heaven Because life is so precious A place to go after death Life is so precious Half ape half man the Neanderthal His cousin the Java man Lying around dreaming Could this life last forever?
